February 13, 201313 yr I booked a return flight with Air Asia and I need to change the departure flight - I don't need to change the return flight. The cost to make the change would cost about twice as much as a brand new one-way ticket. So I'm wondering if I can just book a new one-way ticket (probably with a different airline), and then just not show up for my Air Asia depature flight. But still use the Air Asia return flight. Or if I don't show up for the depature flight, will I incur a fee and/or have my return flight cancelled? Thanks for any replies!
February 13, 201313 yr I assume it is a domestic fare. Check these two links, does not appear it will cost you more than double. http://www.airasia.com/th/en/our-fares/fare-rules.page? http://www.airasia.com/th/en/our-fares/fees-and-charges.page?
February 13, 201313 yr I know in the past airlines would cancel forward and return fare if you did not show on the forward journey. Have found another link, refers to only having to pay for another fare on the flight you do not use, return is still valid. http://www.airasia.com/ask/template.do;jsessionid=663D1366D6E9B4A760F2F2BD0D5899A7.tomcat3?id=143
February 13, 201313 yr Author I've spoken to Air Asia through live chat and yes my return flight would still be okay. And you're right, it's not double. I saw 4000B and thought I had to pay that much extra, but it's 4000 minus my original fare of 2300, so 1700 to change. Ouch. Edited February 13, 201313 yr by LionMG
February 14, 201313 yr Yes, you can. Air Asia is point to point and does not care how you get to the departure point of the flight.
