I'm actually talking more about the relative morality of what we do for money. Programming v prostitution. Why is my "profession" more "honourable"? Why am I allowed to look down on what a working girl is doing for a quid? Because it doesn't involve sex? That's ridiculous. My job is shit boring and I hate it. But I do it for the money....

Fat, ugly women? How much money are we talking here? With most people you will eventually reach a sum where almost everyone will do almost anything.

I realize even though prostitution is legal in your country of origin you have probably little experience with the profession. So I'll cut you some slack but a lot of what bar girls provide in Pattaya and places like that could hardly be called a favor. Looking at the talent pool lately and what is being provided one would assume the older gentlemen are giving more of a charitable donation.

Little known fact, prostitution has been completely eradicated in the west. Its not like it's legal in Australia, Germany, Amsterdam, or technically legal in Canada & the UK. In the good moral US of A, its not like walking the strip in Vegas involves having to navigate around hundreds of men handing out "escort cards" or that every city of reasonable size has free magazines/newspapers that advertise "escorts" or offers "happy ending" massage parlors.

Even in Asia, you can't find "beer bars" outside Thailand. Such things don't exist in Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, or the Philippines.

Nope, Thailand and the Dominican Republic are the last places where prostitution is still available.

in December 2012 i was in Ho Chi Ming City in Vietnam.

Within 100 meters of my "Tourist" hotel there were two massage places and one beer bar.

From my guess the girls outside that bar wearing mini-skitrts and tube tops were not simply offering beer for sale there.

However, it was not being consumed in that bar.... but in a nearby rooms-for-rent apartment block .... rooms rentable by the hour.

And all the massage places offer "personal service" with an agreed upon "tip".

And in both Singapore and Penang you can find young women who will accompany you to your room.

Not even to mention the Phillipines.

In Thailand, if you go back to about 1700 or so, you will find one of the wealthist women of that time had a Dutch boyfriiend ... she was so wealthy and influential she helped open up Thailand ... called the Kingdom of Siam then i believe ..... to European contact.. Mostly with the East India trade company and the Dutch at that time.

So it's been that way for at least 500 years.
