Hey Guys, I have used this site in the past for excellent advice. Now I have been tasked with planning a trip to Thailand for my girlfriend and I.

Later this year my girlfriend (Chinese) and I are planning a trip to Thailand for 3 or 4 weeks. We have both been before and are looking for little hidden beauties or relaxing spots you guys might know of. As for myself, I have been to Phuket, Pattaya, Krabi, Koh Samui, Phi Phi, Koh Phangnan, and Bangkok, many of which I have visited multiple times.

We are looking at a mix of romantic beauty spots, culture, fun party times, ... bit of everything. We are both late in our (very) late 20's if that makes a difference. I should also mention our budget is not huge so we are looking at keeping costs to a minimum if possible without losing to many comforts. A tall order?!

Well if you guys have any suggestions let me know! We are happy to revisit some of the places we have been, because we loved them, but would also appreciate some new places to try out.

To contribute, my tip is to try Tokho Beach Resort on Phi Phi, beautiful secluded spot just a short boat ride round the island from the centre of Phi Phi. Private beach is beautiful, and the bamboo huts over the water are amazing, and cheap, just don't expect anything else in terms of bars, nightlife or places to eat!

Cheers

Sounds to me like you already have the basic tools to find your own secluded beauty spots.

If you have already been to those great places you mentioned, use the same tactics that got you there to find other places. Sometimes a place referred by a stranger does not agree with you.

Regardless where you end up.....when on holiday, if you don't enjoy yourself, you only have yourself to blame. Even holidays from hell can be fun, it's just your attitude that can make or break it.

Have Fun!

Hi, since you 2 are still young and fit, have you ever heard of Cow bell mountain? also known as Phu Kradung. Great spot that many never get to. You can check it out on Youtube and do some google research. Well well worth the trip.

Good luck!

A lot depends on whether you like the mountains or the sea. From your previous experiences it seems like you prefer the ocean. I love the hill country west of Kanchanaburi, but not enough to live down there. There isn't enough city life for me, which Chiang Mai provides. If you enjoy motorbike rides like I do I can also recommend the mountain scenery east of Nan in the north east corner of Thailand. And, they same can be said for the Mae Sariang to Mae Hong Son to Pai area.

Thanks for the suggestions, will definitely take a look at them. Would be nice to visit some of the inland areas of thailand as the beach resorts can get a bit samey.

Cheers!
