Translation App

Featured Replies

Due to age and having worked in a noisy enviroment I find it very difficult to 'hear' the Thai sounds / tones and therefore find it very difficult to learn Thai.

Can anyone recommend a translation app that works well in Thailand as communication is a problem especially when I go up to my daughters village.

I have heard Sayhi in the uk translate English into Thai on an Iphone.

Are there any other apps that work on different phones that people have used?

Also which phones work best?

Thanks for any replies.

Hi John - I use an iPhone and find "iTranslate Voice" and the "Google Translate" app both helpful.

A what??! All these 'apps' don't work and will make you seem a <deleted>.

Buy Haas, hit the books and put in the hard yards as the rest of us have done. You're iFhukingphone won't be your pal here...

What's "Haas"?

'Haas' is a Thai to English dictionary considered by many to be the 'Bible' for translations from Thai into English. You do however need an English to Thai dictionary as well.

HeavyDrinker,

I wish I had thought of getting a dictionary, thanks for that idea. Surprised you did not suggest I get a hearing aid as well.
