If they're UK citizens AND they're intend to stay in Thailand for 30 days or less then they get a permission to enter on arrival at Don Muang airport and don't need to get a visa. If they intend to stay for more than 30 days they need a tourist visa which will allow them to enter Thailand for up to 90 days after its date of issue and will allow them to stay in Thailand for 60 days. The Thai consulate in Hull is a good place to get visas:

endure .... Thanks for the info, I think they will be in Thailand for around 32 days, so it looks as if the correct visa to get would be the tourist visa ,
