lazygourmet
I bought this radio at a temple market last weekend... and it's working perfectly. But I don't know what the white buttons in front and next to the speaker were made for (stations selection maybe?)... and then, how to use them !?! I did a bit of google search... but in vain ! Any idea ? Edited March 5, 2013 by lazygourmet
jcgodber
The top buttons are for Band and bottom are for select favorite stations I think Edited March 5, 2013 by jcgodber
Crossy
Can you post a clearer image of the symbols above the right hand knob, I think these refer to the buttons immediately above them. The big piano keys on the bottom are band change I believe. Or maybe not
astral
I think the bottom buttons are for band LW/MW/SW maybe FM depending on when it was made. Those radios tune by turning a knob, which is connected by string to the tuning capacitor. So I doubt there are 'favourite' buttons but I could be wrong. What is the model number? ThaidDown
Just guessing but agree lower buttons for LW/MW plus maybe SW? or VHF, as said depending on year of set. Would also guess that the left hand button in that set is OFF. There may aslso be a GRAM button. The 5 buttons on the right could be BASS and TREBLE enhance or even a LOCAL/DX switch for radio stations. The thingy above those 5 switches looks, to me anyway, like an old fluorescent 'magic eye' tuning indicator. Just my guesses, yes model number might help. Sandman77
Hello! I am a radio collector since my childhood! Put a wire on the back to get better shortwave reception! The signal in Thailand getting stronger Beginn at 5h pm On Daytime weaksignal! The oberland powerlines in Thailand are a Big Problem for sw lw and mw reception! Before you Operated The Radio Long Time, Open it and clean The dust from inside! Mostly the freqency range is limited on many old Moselle on fm ends at 100 MHz or 104 but not 108 MHz, the wider range come later! The tubes getting very hot inside, clean them before you operate, otherwise the can beginn to smell bad from the dust!

lazygourmet
Thanks guys... My Dad just sent me a small explanation: Five big buttons when starting from the left are: - Start - LW - AM - SW -FM ; Buttons up are for stations pre-selection while using "magic eye"; Two antenna plugs for cables at the back: one for AM/FM and one for SW Edited March 6, 2013 by lazygourmet
Payboy
white buttons in front and next to the speaker Fine tuning?
lazygourmet
white buttons in front and next to the speaker Fine tuning? Yes... Actually "fine tuning" with the little roll up to them... Just work for AM/FM Then push 30 seconds -or so- to one of those 5 buttons to "memorize" a radio station. Great piece of industrial design actually... We bought it for five hundred baht- as for deco- thinking that it would never work... But when we plugged it: the sound came !

Sandman77
Depend on the Modell some tube radios are very expensive on eBay! One time I sold a philiphs reverbeo radio the top of the series, has something like build in souround sound, for 500€ to a nz buyer! I want the item quickly and payed 300 ems air post! The problem is always the sending, the size are huge! Packing must be perfect then the tubes are very sensitive!
