Hi All, one of the things I love about Thailand are the informal networks. I heard of Isaan and the Kalasin region and think it might be great fun to board a bus and play it by ear. Where would you go? I found the locals most helpful, so I would not prebook hotels.

If you want real surprise just pick a window and buy a ticket .... dos'nt matter where it goes it's the adventure right?

Try the temples too....for free lodging and free foods!

Oh...and keep away from their nuns!

Buy a lonely Planet guide and find things you want to see as a destination then take your time working your way there?
