mouse
Stephen Malone, a longtime resident of Kamphaeng Phet, Thailand, will be departing within the next few days, enroute to "San Martin", Millicent Road within the village of Clane, Co. Kildare, about 32 kilometers west of Dublin, Ireland. Why am I telling you this ? ............ Read on ...................!! At 10 A.M., on 1st April 2006 (no it is not an April fools joke) Stephen Malone will begin his epic World Wide Walk for AIDS orphans. Imagine a 26,000 mile / 40,000 kilometer charity hike. His goal is to raise funds for Aids Orphans. He will circle our entire planet via Ireland, the United Kingdom, Spain and France. Then on to Asia, Oceania and the Americas over a period fo five years. This gives a whole new meaning to the word charity. His first day's walking will take him to the ferry terminal at Dublin Port. From there it's across the Irish Sea to Holyhead in Wales, through the Welsh valleys and across the Severn Bridge to Bristol, heading for the port of Plymouth in south-west England. Then it's another ferry trip to Santander in northern Spain, public transport westwards to Galicia and the re-start of his walk from Finisterre, the legendary "Finis Terrae", the End of the World. From Santiago de Compostela, Stephen will follow the medieval "Camino" in an easterly direction towards the Pyrenees. Crossing the mountains to southern France, he will head for the Mediterranean via Lourdes, Carcassonne, Montpellier and Marseille, before reaching Toulon, the goal of this first stage, towards the end of May. Chopper
Very commendable. He has certainly set his sights high, copied from his website: 'The idea is to raise up to 40 million Euro for selected AIDS charities, including that of Father Joe Maier’s Mercy Centre in Bangkok, Thailand' Great post.
