BANGKOK: -- At 5pm yesterday, police and the Customs Department announced the arrest of two women and one Nigerian man who had allegedly smuggled 1,240 grams of cocaine into the Kingdom.

During a body search of Sirithai Thongraj, a 26-year-old woman, Suvarnabhumi Airport police found the illegal substances tucked into her bra and panty. Sirithai was reportedly taking a transit flight from Singapore to Samui Island.

Police subsequently busted Sumitra Srikamnuan, a 21-year-old woman, and Macdon Chiemeka Chukwunenye, a 30-year-old Nigerian man, who were waiting to transfer the drugs from Sirithai and distribute them in Bangkok.

These young women will spend a long time in jail. Shame that people take this route.

She was very lucky she did not get cought in Singapore

..was thinking the same. If you transit trough Singapore you are willing to take a very high risk...

Not newsworthy at all, only catching the bottom feeders, where's the big fish?

5 million baht is barely $170,000 (FX rate = 29.5)

it would have been cut 3 times so the actual value is more likely $510,000.00 USD

no rock in LOS only powder

So the headline should properly state "Two Thai women and one Nigerian man" rather just "two women and a Nigerian man." Singling out the Nigerian and not distinguishing the two Thai women as Thai is a high form of discrimination typical of Thais.

Not really, Most country's Press might report the nationality of a foreigner, but see no need to report the nationality of locals. The Press attempt to write succinct and interesting articles for their local readership, not an all inclusive report with every known fact.
