Is how I would say it, some expert will be along shortly to use a Thai expression that sums it up in 2 or 3 words.

ถ้าทำไม่ได้ไม่ต้องให้สัญญา(น่ะ/เนี่ย etc.) is my attempt

Without the personal pronouns, I think it makes it a more general statement of "people shouldn't" rather than "you shouldn't"

I may well be wrong of course, happens all the time

Or you could just play her the song:

ทำไม่ได้ อย่าสัญญา

อย่าให้คำสัญญากับใคร ถ้าคุณคิดว่าคุณทำไม่ได้
