25Th April, Lopburi "retirement" Visa Extention (Combination)

Extended my "Visa on the basis of retirement" yesterday, at Lopburi Immigration. No Queue (2pm), had my Thai wife and our daughter accompanying me.

Presented my:

Passport.

Bank book, Updated for that day.

Letter from bank confirming bank balance, dated that day.

Letter from British Embassy Bangkok, confirming my income; 3 days old.

House Book (Yellow Tabien Baan) as proof of address.

Completed form TM7 with photo glued to back.

Signed Photo copies of:

Passport, including Information page, used Visa Pages and Arrival/Departure card (now in its 18th year).

Bank book, Used pages.

House book, used pages.

All the photo copies were retained. Bank book was checked to see if amount of money required to boost my income to 800,000 Baht had been in for 3 months. (I know this is not an official requirement, this office still checks; what would happen if that amount had not been there for that period is something I have no wish to discover).

Officer was friendly, efficient and pleased everything was prepared.

Also did my 90 day report, all completed within 20 minutes from/to carpark.

Time to relax for another year.

Great Stuff. I did my second retirement annual extension late March in Tesco building, Chumphon

(officials from Ranong Immi attend every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month).

Only difference - I was asked for a second visa-type photograph.

Last year, I was asked to provide a mud-map of the location of my residence.

I guess you gotta take duplicates of everything (and smile) to make things flow.

Lopburi is great no problems and friendly staff.

Only thing can be with 90 day reports, once someone came in just before me with a stack of passports with forms attached, presumably for their workers, and put them on the desk.

I had to wait till they were all processed before it became my turn.

Learnt from that and now put my passport and completed form on the desk as soon as I arrive.
