April 30, 201312 yr Hi guys I have business that I would like to start here in Thailand (freelance work) where I can work from home and would like to set up a Thai business, I am married to a Thai national and at the end of the day don't require any employees. What should I do to legally set up so I can gain my B visa, WP etc. I also have a question regarding company registered capital eg 1 million Baht does this have to be in your account or is it on paper only?
May 1, 201312 yr The legal option is to open a Thai Limited Company but four Thai employees are required to obtain a work permit. Please note that since you are married to a Thai woman you do not need a non-B if you qualify for the non-O extension based on marriage to a Thai national (eg 400,000 Baht in a Thai bank or 45,000 Baht a month in verified income). The 1 million baht in capitalization should not be on paper only, you should have at the very least 25% in cash or assets to show that you are not starting the company solely for a work permit. Let me know if you are in Bangkok and would like to come in for a free consultation to go over your options. [sunbeltlegal][/sunbeltlegal]
