Koh Samet - Car Park

Featured Replies

We have 4 days planned in Koh Samet and I have read that you leave the car in Ban Phe by the ferry rather than taking the car on Samet?

Can any one tell me if it's safe or give me any helpful tips (apart from the obvious of not leaving anything valuable etc).

Thanks in advance.

Thanks god their is not a public car ferry for Koh Samet. Yes it's safe to leave your car by the ferry office around the back, done it many times, so far without any problems. Last time I did this a few weeks back, cost 60 baht a day.

You cannot take your car to Koh Samet, and the roads there would probably result in you needing a tow truck to bring it back. There are several places to park in Ban Phe, and usually motorcy guys will try to lead you to their carparks before you even arrive at the ferry docks. I park in a lot right beside the dock across from 7-11 and have never had a problem.

I was there last weekend, parked my car right in front of Ban Phe Pier, 2 minutes walking to the ferry.

Paid 200 THB for 2 nights.

parked many times at the speed boat one and no problems.

Check where your place is in relation to the ferry stop before deciding to take the ferry or speed boat.
