Apt West/north/north-West Of The Old City

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I guess there are lots of these threads but maybe there are people out there still willing and able to give some advice. I will stay in CM for three months, starting this July. I will work in the northwestern part of the old city and I would like to live not too far away, so I could walk if I want to. I am looking for a room to rent on a monthly basis, serviced apartment style, so regular cleaning and change of towels and bed linen. So far I've had a look at some photos and web pages of:

Chiang Mai Lodge,

Emporium Resident,

View Doi Mansion and

Varada Place.

Does anybody know some or all of these places and could say how they compare? Or other recommendations for long-term stays? Furniture and style-wise I would like View Doi Mansion best. Chiang Mai Lodge would be nearest to my place of work. Above all I'm looking for a clean and reasonably QUIET room with okay furniture and natural light. I will also have to work in the room a few hours per day so a desk or table and chair would be necessary and the room shouldn't be too small.

Thanks a lot,

Marco

Viewdoi is OK, book a room on the east side of the building, west side is noisy

Chiang Mai lodge is good but there is some construction in the area

Don't know about the other two

Thank you Greeen. Anybody else? People at Emporium Resident seem to be nice. I just find it strange that there are no ratings of the place to be found, neither at tripadvisor nor agoda nor anywhere really.

You say walk to work. What do you consider a walking distance?

I don't think the Chiang Mai lodge rooms would meet your needs
