I want to buy a ticket for a girl to visit America. She is just a friend. I think she can get a tourist visa because she a manager for KFC. Do I need to buy the ticket first and hope she gets a visa? Or can she apply for the visa and if she gets it ,I can buy the ticket.

Any help on how things work would be appreciated.

Have her get the visa first.

After completing the on-line application, and checking your work several times, she will need to schedule an interview at the Embassy in Bangkok or Chiang Mai.

She will need to provide the US Embassy with proof, that she has strong ties to Thailand. Land, house, car, good job, etc. Anything that will convince the Embassy she will return to Thailand.

It is very important to be 100% honest on the application, and during the interview process.

Get the Visa first. You never know if it will be granted or not. If you have a good job I would recomend sending a letter for her to give to the embassy on your companies letterhead saying she will be staying with you the entire trip and she is your close friend. Her appearance at the visa application is very important also, she should not overdo or underdo it and her english is a big plus also. Just passing on information from my friends past experience, good luck.
