How to say: 'You never keep your part of the agreement'

Featured Replies

Stumped again - need to know how to say this. Tried alternative single word like renege and got แปรพักตร์ from Google. Thai 2 English translates this back as [to] depart from ; defect ; desert and further examples suggest not the word. thai-language.com similar and gives similar words that mean betray - like hak lang.

I am surprised how often distinct names for very distinct and common traits don't exist although some do - thai-language.com seems the best look up source if you use the American English word.

For those learning Benjawan Beckers 'Speak Like a Thai' are the best source of words to describe those traits that have a name.

Thanks to all who replied to my last request. After 18 years I have found that what works best for getting your point across is using the Thai words/phrases via non confrontational SMS.

คุณไม่เคยทำตามที่เราตกลงกันไว้เลย

See a similar expression:

"Break a promise – ผิดสัญญา ไม่รักษาคำพูด ไม่ทำตามสัญญา

I told you, I never break a promise.
ฉันบอกกับคุณแล้วว่าฉันไม่เคยผิดสัญญา"

คุณไม่ทำตามสัญญาเลย

No point in saying it to your missus, she only breaks her promises when she's angry.

Mole, David wprime thx for answers. Looks nailed. Have another one I will post in a separate thread so others can find it.

เสียคำพูดตลอด .. more colloquial.

ไม่เคยรักษาคำพูด

Again, a more colloquial expression.
