mania
Hi, I am having a problem with this. Can someone summarize when each is used? I know when I am saying no it is just ไม่ but when asking a question do you end with ไหม่ or ไม่ ? Like ชอบน้ำส้มไม่ครับ or is it ไหม่ครับ ? How about chai-mai? would it be ใช่ไม่ or ใช่ไหม่ ? Thanks for any tips Edited June 20, 2013 by mania

n00b
It's an understandable spelling error. The tone mark is the most important part.
AyG
ไหม has a rising tone and is the 'question word' ไหม is irregular: though written with a rising tone, in normal speech it's pronounced with a high tone; only in the most formal of situations is it pronounced rising.
