natural fibre clothing/ eco fabrics in Chiang Mai...?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where i would be able to buy organic lightweight fabrics, either cotton, bamboo, eucalyptus or hemp in Chiang Mai?

Or even better, organic and natural fibre clothing? I'm looking for anything smart/casual and suitable for teaching. I'm a medium Western size, but usually too big for any Thai or Japanese designs.

I've just moved here and don't know my way around just yet!

I've seen something like your looking for down at Warorot Market, in one of the laneways that leads off Thapae Road. Sorry i can't be more descriptive, but seeing as you've just moved here you should head down to Warorot anyway where a world of wonder awaits!

The best place to find clothing like that is in Wororot Market, as scd said.

It is hard to give directions to the soi but the best way to find it is to make your way to the D2 Hotel just behind the Night Bazaar road, Chang Klang Road. The street behind the D2 is called Thaphae Soi 1, follow that down til you come to Thaphae Road, you will see a Tops supermarket on your left. Straight across Thaphae Road is a small soi which takes you into the markets, plenty of shops selling clothes and fabrics etc. The soi scd mentioned is the second on the left, and at the end of that soi is the Hmong hilltribe market. Lots to see there.
