Is getting Good customer service hard to find -?

It's quite evident for me "good customer service" we will service only good customers. Sometimes we have to look ourselves in the mirror whether we are good customer or not. As I have seen some customers complain for no reason. Just because having argument with his wife before coming to shops does not mean he has right to scold anyone he meets.

Before the minimum wage increase you had a lot of poorly trained service staff. Some tried, some were only after sales targets or tips and plenty were just plain lazy.

After the minimum wage increase it's the same but just in fewer numbers.

But as for the chain of banks we use in this city, they have become beyond belief lazy and thick. I thought I was the only one walking out, but 4 Thais complained and walked out before my wife did the same thing and then called the company to complain to them.

Exactly what were you trying to accomplish they were unable to do for you ?

The usual, pay in money. But the staff find doing their job between chatting to each other a chore.

At The Villa Pharmacy in Pattaya, you can get horrible service if the girl is not watching videos or stuffing her face.

Yesterday, 30 minutes after opening hours, I made the mistake of interrupting her so she decided to charge me 300% over the usual price for my medicine.

By By.

From your attitude you probably got what you deserved ..... another example of how NOT to shop ! LOL

If you were a nice person you wouldn't care if she watched vids or had a few snacks , but you are a critical person who is not nice and gets treated accordingly ...... sorry but it's true

Sorry, but you could be the nicest person in the world and be stonewalled as in the above scenario. Although wearing a smile and your Sunday best will improve your chances somewhat, it is not a given. I expect you're a newbie who has resided him/herself to receive bad service, but bet you're not so meek on your own turf, right?

There's no beating around the bush, customer service is very hit 'n miss here, especially in the south, and have found the banks particularly unpredictable. Being Mary Poppins would doubtless make a blind bit of difference.

I'm not a newbie to Earth or Thailand and I don't reside myself to poor service nor am I any more or less "meek" on one side of the planet or the other , being nice does not equate to meek as a side note , I get what I give on either side of Earth because people treat people they like better then people they don't, sometimes I get treated poorly but rather than blame you for example for trying to slight me by calling me "meek" and a "newbie" I accept responsibility for what I created for myself by posting something I know people don't like to hear which was not especially nice of me.

It's simply a Fact of life that treating others well motivates them to treat you well and treating others less than well is returned in kind by most people , the difference between me and others is not that human nature is different for them than for me, the difference is I take ownership of the way I am treated by recognizing my own behavior first and others chose not to.

As far as the above goes he seems to be complaining that since he was not asked in later years for some form that it's poor service ! I don't find the lack of asking a person to fill out a form to be poor service since he would prefer not to fill it out anyhow ..... it's just a nonsense complaint and if not filling out a form is the best example of poor service he can come up with how bad can it be ? LOL ..... most sensible people would be happy about that not whine like a little girl over it.

Blah, blah, blah.... another clueless farang, new on the scene that thinks Thais can do no wrong...

Reread my first post and concentrate...maybe you will learn something.

Yeah that must be it ! ..... It couldn't possibly be that people who treat people well get good results. cheesy.gif

I wasn't going to mention this but I will .... you remind me of the guy in the immigration office last time , I went in and the lady waved me over to the desk even though I just walked in and their were 20 some odd people waiting , she looked at my forms and then went outside and had my wife cut in the front of the copy machine line to copy a form she forgot , as I was waiting some English guy got all butt hurt and asked me why I got special treatment , I told him the truth, which is , ....... when I came in the first few years I was nice and dressed respectfully instead of being a whiner and looking like him , and since being nice and respectful motivates others to do the same, he could pretty well bank on never getting the same kind of service I get ...... You see why he reminds me of you ? wai2.gif

Pretty impressed with yourself I see. All the Thai people just love you.

Like I said. Clueless.

I suggest you purchase a leather belt with your name engraved on the back so you can read who you are when you pull your head outta your ass.

Can I nominate you as negative poster of the year?

You earned it.

Back on topic.

I have owned a few businesses here and find that 1 out of 10 employees are not sleepwalking.

Did you know the staff that steals the most and does the least amount of work are admired by the rest?

Sure I will accept the nomination ...... Depends on the Staff ..... did you know that not every Thai business has that problem and that that fly's are attracted to Shit not Honey ? Which may be an explanation for your personal staffing problem.

Did you know that the Enron and WorldCom worker that steals the most stuff while doing the least amount of work is admired by the rest ? Bernie Madolph is not Thai and neither is Lord Rothchild

I guess I could have just said that I admire the staff that robs you the most and doesn't do any work to and I'm not even Thai ..... but I wanted to win some more votes since you were kind enough to nominate me and all.

You can't be serious. You're accusing RealDeal of being negative but you're far worse. Having that many bad employees is more a reflection of your poor leadership abilities than the employees themselves. Someone who can't train his employees properly, motivate them to not "sleepwalk," or even garner their respect so they wouldn't steal from you right and left. You should consider a new occupation where you don't have to lead any live person.

How do you 'train' a thai workforce when they have no pride or shame in anything they do? Almost impossible i would say!

The same way you would train any other group of people lacking in pride or shame if that was the actual case ..... Do you really think improving a persons pride is so impossible ? ..... it's not there are a gazillion management books and courses that can explain it to you ..... or you could go to college someday

So someone could read a book and then all of a sudden have the ability to change 90% of the entire Thai workforce.....interesting. If it's so simple maybe you should hire yourself out to all these companies that have issues with the local workers, might make a couple of dollars / pounds / baht.

In my experience Thai's are a waste of time, obviously there are the good ones but only a very small %, perhaps 0.00000000000001%.

I have never had a problem. If I want Item A and then thats what I want. If someone trys to sell me Item be I just politely say Mai ow krup. Never had a problem and never had an issue. Only time I get a bit choked is when the gas attendants over fill my bike and think gas poured on the tank is normal. Now i just fill the bike myself saves any hastle and hurt feelings.

Airport is much better than most I have been to. And I fly at least 12 time a year round trip. Food places are not bad sometimes slow but hey it does not hurt my feelings when I have a cold beer.

Company's that actually care can hire any number of people to do that without my help .... shocking news to you that people learn that at University's I know ...... but it really is true

I know it's hard to believe but Personnel Management is an actual real field of study .......

And there's where it all falls down, "companies that actually care" - few and far between in LOS.

I read the book, working with Thais.

Treat them like children, don't expect much performance, expect them to steal and most important of all, work has to be fun.

I have to hand it to you, DiNiro. You've managed to enlist JaiLai as one of your "useful idiots." Perhaps you do have some leadership potential afterall.

I have checked a few threads by mrrealdeal.

Seems that he gets jerked around, doesn't even know it and then thanks them.

Imbecile comes to mind.
