True H SIM doesn't work in Singapore or?

Featured Replies

I'm back to Singapore for a bit and as I landed, I discovered my True H SIM doesn't work in here.

Scanning for available mobile networks brings up a list of 3: STARHUB, SingTel and SGP-M1

Tried to connect to each manually with no luck so as of now I can only place the emergency calls according to my phone. :-/

Is it because none of Sing networks support True H SIMs or is there something screwed in my phone settings again?

When I was here last time with my AIS SIM I could get good reception, ended up buying a Sing SIM anyway but it's just disappointing True doesn't work here.

Do you have TrueMove H pre-paid? Or Post-paid?

Did you enable international roaming with TrueMove H prior to traveling?

The various and sundry TrueMove H IR web pages seem to indicate that Starhub (handset display: Starhub/SGP05/525-05) is their local roaming partner in Singapore.

I was in Singapore this past weekend - hack, hack, cough, cough - and my DTAC SIM roamed fine.

Nope, didn't enable it, didn't know I had to, never needed to enable anything for roaming with a few of the Canadian phone companies and with Thai AIS.

Just picked up a new SingTel SIM as I'm here for work and world be staying for a few weeks. If I was here only for a few days, I wouldn't have bothered and would have used my True SIM if it had worked.

Well, thanks to letting me know I had to enable roaming for it to roam. I'm on pre-paid plan.
