Ms. Thida said the Ammart (feudal aristocrats) Regime has the upper hand because of high coordination between different factions to campaign against the the government, while Ammart-allied media, Senators, political parties, and military commanders are likewise united in "forcing the democratic side to retreat from the victory" gained from the 2011 election

I think the events of a few years ago with the red shirts in Bangkok just show what could happen.

I sometimes fear that Thailand could easily face civil war if the glue that holds it together decays.

What glue?

Thailand is rapidly falling apart NOW and they have already had many mini civil wars between the various party's and factions thereof!!!

Hold on, that's this? Yingluck as Thaksin is deeply red, so how can they raise against themselves? Or is it just the usual political manouevres to distance itself from somebody (in this case Yingluck) so that we don't have to do anything with their mistakes and put another red into the seat.

Jatuporn may have had the epiphany that racketeering is now more profitable than being a simple mercenary. Why wait for crumbs when you can have a nice juicy shakedown?

Quite sickening really, but hey this is what happens when a load off uneducated bush ben and women decide to ake over the country.

As for therice scheme, one has to ask if this wasnt planed, yingluck, is a probapaty developer a realtor, what happens when you tell all the farmers there future crops are going to sky rocket in value, land goes up and they all run to the bank for a loan and go spending crasy then end up in loads of dept, but hey it doesn't matter cos there going to get rich from there future crop. Then all of a sudden they are told "we are sorry we cant sell your crop, its going to have to go right down again", people are left with laods of uncontrollable dept (banks love that) banks reposes assets and land, people desperatly try and sell to cover dept, no profit in the crops. Then people like taksin come in and offer to buy masses of land and a cheap price, vepelop on it and/or hold land for a decade, this is where the richer get rich and the pore have dug there own grave, you reap what you sow.

The day will come, when the poor of this country will see what real power they have, they don't need Thaksin and his merry men, who rob from the rich and give it back to themselves, one day they will realise and rise up just like it has been done in other countries and trample the "elite" underfoot - whether they can do any better themselves once this has been accomplished remains to be seen. Unfortunately I doubt it, and a new regime will slowly take the place of the others, however, they will be on notice not to over-step the mark too far - as the people now understand what a fair deal is and how they should be looked after.

The National United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) also unveiled many new "strategies" for its movements, including the launch of English language news sites and expansion of local "UDD Schools" to inform its local supporters.

More propaganda & brainwashing.

Also, with Thida saying that the red shirt group "is too plagued with conflicts and not united enough", they need to remove the 'United' from their name & simplify it to:

The National Front.

I expect that this will actually boost the PM's support. Voters who are in the middle will sympathize with the PM. The perception will be furthered that the PM is working in the interests of Thailand and not one particular interest group if that interest group complains. The statements from the UDD are just words. It acts to show that the UDD is tough and is sticking to its 'principles', even though the reality is that the UDD knows that if it turns on the PM it will be sent back into the wilderness. Methinks this is all for show.

Or, they actually believe that they are a force to be reckoned with whistling.gif

I asked my Matthayom 6 students today what they thought about the revolt in Egypt. They didn't know anything about it. So, I asked them what they thought about corruption in Thailand. They didn't care and said politics is boring. They were more interested in what was for lunch today.

Future generation of Thailand ... can't wait!

They'll discover in the future that the other ASEAN countries have 'eaten their lunch'.

Well you should know by now that the most important function for all Thai's is eating.
