Hi my O-A retirement visa obtained in thr UK is due for renewal in July,Ive had the 12 month extension, I understand that a bank account showing 800,000 baht is required, and a hospital medical certificate is also neeeded,my passport , and two passport pictures, is this correct ?

Correct - but you must get a letter from your bank saying what your current balance is (your bank book alone won't do) - the letter will cost around 200 baht. You need 2 copies of the bank letter and 2 copies of the appropriate pages of your bank passbook. 2 copies of the medical form (which costs around 100 baht) and 2 copies of the application form. Sounds a lot, but pretty easy. I've done it 3 times myself already!

Thank you for your replies, much appreciated. my origanal O-A Visa from the UK was a Multiple entry one.

If it was a multiple and your just coming up to your first year all you need to do is nip over the border and re-enter for another years stamp.............that way you can put off bringing the 800k in until next year.

Just make sure you are out and back in before the date on the visa expires.

Edit.........to make sure we are on the same wavelength.............it was an O-A you applied for in the UK wasn't it?.....i.e when you landed at Don Muang you got a 1 year stay stamp
