Taib to continue representing BRN

BANGKOK: -- Hassan Taib has confirmed that he will continue representing the Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) in its ongoing peace dialogue with Thailand, Deputy Prime Minister Pracha Promnog said yesterday.

"He has also said that the peace dialogue should continue," Pracha added as he dismissed widespread rumours that Taib was planning to leave the peace dialogue.

BRN and the Thai authorities started their peace negotiations earlier this year with the next round of talks scheduled to take place on August 18. Malaysia has served as the facilitator of the dialogue.

Despite BRN's offer of truce for the month of Ramadan, attacks have continued in the deep South. The latest one was on Monday, when Imam Yakob Raimanee of the Central Masjid in Pattani was gunned down.

In a recent interview, Taib expressed his condolences to the imam's family, saying the BRN would definitely not attack soft targets. "Thai authorities should immediately investigate if such attacks happen again," he was quoted as saying.

As for the attack on Yakob, Pracha said yesterday that evidence pointed to a few suspects and arrest warrants would be issued soon.

Meanwhile, a source said that BRN had sent a letter to Thailand via Malaysia expressing its dissatisfaction and disappointment in the country's failure to protect the 11 Muslims who were killed in the South during Ramadan. "The BRN said Thai security agencies were responsible for preventing crime and providing safety to people," the source said.

It seems as though the "peace loving" representative from the BRN expressed his condolences the the MURDERED Imams family but failed totally to condemn the terrorists who carried out the murderous attack.

"Meanwhile, a source said that BRN had sent a letter to Thailand via Malaysia expressing its dissatisfaction and disappointment in the country's failure to protect the 11 Muslims who were killed in the South during Ramadan."

I think this is the first time in history that a group kill someone, and then the same group blame the authorities for not protecting those the group have killed.

Secondly, it clearly shows how muslims think about the worlds population. They regret the death of fellow muslims, but could not care less about the death of non-muslims!
