Can anyone give me a name of a doctor/specialist in the Pattaya area who has good experience with HIV patients

Dr Philippe Seur; Phone: 038 429 231, email: [email protected].

French hiv specialist, practices on Soi 10.

I picked the above info up from an old thread, in case anyone ever needed it, so I have no personal experience. (thank God!)

Good luck. :o

So OK you have offered a quotation....but what is the reason that you have posted this?

Dogs and fleas have nothing to do with HIV.....I suppose that you are equating the dogs to prostitutes are you?

HIV can be caught by anyone......and in many cases the prostitute probably practices safer sex than many other people.

A very strange quotation coming from the person who says he is going to Pattaya to enjoy the lifestyle :o

Yeah, Pattaya Fox, I looked at that quote long and hard. Unless the OP is a troll (which I'm sure he's not), then either he, or someone he knows is in serious need of advice/treatment. I know most subjects come in in for a bit of gesting, but I can't really see the point of the humour (if indeed it is humour that was intended), in wanabee's post.

Hiv can be transmitted by contaminated blood, contaminated needles, or even a broken condom, amongst others, and you don't necessarily have to 'lie down with the dogs' - if that's what you meant. It's certainly not a matter to be joking about and not an auspicious start to your Pattaya trip planning Mr wannabee. :D

In my humble opinion, I hasten to add.

No offense intended. Don't blame me, I didn't say it. Blame Mr. Franklin. It's only an aphorism that is there to make you think. I thought about this aphorism a lot. It concerns me very much, because I plan on going to Pattaya. I want to have fun, but I'm worried about bringing home something that may ruin my health.

I would recommend keeping such thoughts to yourself , this route will probably be better for your health than retorts like the one above.

Can anyone give me a name of a doctor/specialist in the Pattaya area who has good experience with HIV patients

A bar girl with the name of Paew i guess her name was.... :o ...i'm sure she can help u :D

C'mon, this is not a thread where humor or humour is appropriate. It's a life-threatening condition that many of us could catch.

For anyone new to the forum thinking it's a funny or joking matter, they might go back and read "Dying girlfriend", by Richardb. :o A sad story indeed) :DDying girlfriend

I second that. And make sure you keep a box of tissues handy.

A very sad and heart rending story that makes you realise there is absolutely no humour in the subject of Hiv.

Mobi,

I really did mean thank you in the best possible way coz your reply was the most helpful up until i posted the reply. The face was there coz there were a few crappy replies to my question which made me annoyed. If people don't have anything good to say then they should just leave it and not try to respond with smart arse replies (if this site was monitored properly then some of those who replied should be banned from the forum just like other forums.)

Thanks to the last few replies also ...... the previuos thread was rather sad.

Just for the doubters ..... i am 100% straight and don't have a clue where i got HIV from. I have been married for 7 years and have a 3 year old daughter who are both fine (negative). Over the past 13 years or so in Thailand i have always practised safe sex even when drunk. I have had the odd condom break and once when the girl was having her period?. Could have been then but no point harping on about it now.

I too thought it was a death sentence but after research i now know that a almost normal life can be had with new and ever improving available drugs. Although not using drugs as yet i know it will be in the future where there may even be a cure available!!!

I have nothing against gay or Bisexual people as long as they do not effect me but the most annoying thing about being positive is still the label being attached to HIV as being a gay or drug related disease.

Enough said ......thanks

If you have the option - go up to Bangkok - medical treatment options are better as are the doctors. Bumrungrad has one of the best infectious diseases units and its not as expensive as commonly thought. e.g its cheaper than for example Bangkok Pattaya hospital. I have experience of dealing with a Dr Mattana - excellent doctor, fluent English and well versed in all treatment options given as she teaches infectious diseases medicine at Chulalongkorn Med School. as an indication, most of the HIV specialists at Bkk Pattaya hospital were her students when they went through med school. Very highly regarded by the medical profession in both Thailand and Internationally. Only works evenings though but very thorough and spends a lot of time with each patient and often their family members as well.

website at www.bumrungrad.com

PM me if you want further info.

Don't let people like wannabeexpat get you down. They haven't worked out that there are far worse things than being hiv+, and judging from his posts he is 100% infected. Thankfully the vast majority of posters are not like him.

Take care my friend.

Digger, you beat me to it. I was also going to recommend Bangrungrad. I've heard nothing but good reports.

This french Hiv specialist in Pattaya may also be very good too, if you need someone a bit closer to home.

Thescot, no thanks are necessary. I wish you the very best of luck, and take care of yourself.

Thescot,

Please forgive me about my post. I'm really sorry. I'm new to this and I didn't realize that my words were actually affecting the feelings of real people out there. I'm here alone with my computer and I need to understand that I am not just talking to myself. By the way, that quote I posted was pointed at me, not you. I'm going to Pattaya in the near future and I'm scared to death about getting infected. Really, there's not much I can say except that I'm sorry for what I said. Also, good luck to you. You're not living with a death sentece as long as you get good medical treatment.

Can anyone give me a name of a doctor/specialist in the Pattaya area who has good experience with HIV patients

The government run Chonburi Provincial Hospital (c. 45 minutes from Pattaya) has a specialist clinic caring for HIV/AIDS outpatients.

The 'Anonymous Clinic', as it is known, is run by Dr Chureeratana Bowon. She is a renowned expert in her field and speaks perfect English.

Call 038 274200-7 and ask for the clinic.

Dr Philippe in Soi 10 off Beach road will be your best bet he has some connection with Dr Bowon and also connection with Satterhip Navy Hospital. Its very important to get onto the meds as soon as you can. To find Dr Philippe going up soi 10 from the beach you will see a large green gate on your left just go in there and wait at the front door, his clinique is open after 2PM Monday to Friday.

Good luck mate and I wish you well, this can happen to anyone of us.

AND NO I DONT HAVE IT.

Shame on all those who have made light of a very serious request.

There is lady specialist at the Aikochol Hospital in Chonburi, sorry I do not know her name.

The other reference I have is the Chulalongkorn hospital in Bangkok.
