Smooth as.......

I have some top tips to help TG return to profit:

1. Have a website that works correctly, rather than part loads and stalls.

2. When a customer calls the call centre making them wait 20-40 mins to speak to agent is not really acceptable day after day.

3. Put back the online option to redeem miles for Class upgrades.

4. Have a look at your regional competitors J class offerings then have a look at your own...

5. No Fast track immigration on arrival anymore for J and F class passengers...

6. TG Lounges a selection of wines next to the food (If that is what it is supposed to be) might be a nice idea. Once again look at your competitors lounges and offerings then look at your own. (BTW your competitors tickets on the same route are cheaper)

7. If you class that soft mush filled with fruit and bits of walnuts as cheese in J then fire the chef....

8. Stop filling J and F with friends of the boards family and high ranking army / airforce officials family's going to disney land on holiday as you have sorted them out some tickets. This would mean you could sell more tickets to the PAYING passenger - Clever eh?

9. Implement staff travel guidelines and enforce them. 12 seats in J were free but cabin crew elected to upgrade cabin crew travelling as a group from economy who then started shouting to each other across the J cabin and halfway through produced a cake and all were stood in the aisles singing happy birthday to one of the staff passengers.... They then went round the J class cabin asking the fare paying passengers to join their little aisle party....hmmm... - Wrong on so many levels.

It would seem the board has missed some of the basic things that might be contributing to their loses...Well done.

TG you are abysmal and deteriorating on a monthly basis compared to the other major asian carriers.....It's so bad its funny. Congrats on your quarter results. It was well deserved.

Which items increase revenue (RASM good) or decrease cost (CASM bad)?

Have you shared these thoughts/ideas with Thai Airways?

I'm not certain how many of your ideas would have ameliorated the combination of the hit due to the strengthening of the Baht, and low season?

I am fairly certain one can use the Fast Track arrivals hall by displaying one's TG J or F boarding card, and/or use the VIP lines to the right in the ordinary arriving Immigration Halls (East or West). I used a VIP booth arriving on TG in J last week; showed my boarding card - so any changes must be fairly recent.

Items #1, # 2 and # 3 certainly should be addressed.

Looks like you added some...

# 8 is a common lament but hard to prove that these folks did not pay for their tickets.

#9 should be investigated, you should definitely report this to TG. Failure to adhere to written dress/behavior rules re: staff travel should be subject to review, punishment and termination.

Used to be able to use premium lanes.... Not allowed anymore. A year or so ago they even issues Fast Track Cards onboard...no longer. Actually it depends who you get on the immigration desk - Some are jobsworth's some don't care. Premium Lane section is a definite no now.

So many many times...

Not sure but they are headed VERY quickly to losing me as a premium class passenger 4-8 times per month. If thats how I feel I am sure their are hundreds more feeling the same. Pay less with better service, seats, Rewards, lounges, food.

You can tackle the big things such a fuel hedging etc. etc. but at the end of the day none of that will matter if you have very few PAYING customers in your premium classes (Where they make the cash on a route).

Given that you have these options you would seem crazy not to take your business elsewhere. Why continue to reward TG with your loyalty, and money, when they clearly have been failing to meet your requirements for some time? I would contend that your passive-aggressive behavior, by continuing to give TG your business, means that you are actually perpetuating the very bad business activities which you find so atrocious.

TG Gold for a long time (5 Years) seen the decrease in service. Before I would just book TG but now I look at competitors to see if their schedule fits with mine I do not hesitate to book them instead of TG these days.

TG Gold has its benefits although that has deteriorated as well. With platinum on the horizon - it's hard to just jump ship after so long and with so many miles in the account. But believe me that day is approaching quicker every time they <deleted> it up and i can empty the miles on Award tickets (Which is not easy anymore on TG either...Award seats are getting fewer and fewer possibly due to above freebie family friends onboard)

You should separate the accrued miles from the equation. Those should be used as soon as possible, as they will only lose value or expire.

If you fly as much as you claim, in J/F, then status benefits are really of little use - you'll get lounge access and protection during IRROPS in J/F anyway - and you'll build status on another carrier quite quickly.

Again, by continuing to give your business to THAI, while simultaneously kvetching about how bad they are, is very nearly the definition of insanity.

It would seem the board has missed some of the basic things that might be contributing to their loses...Well done.

Classic passive-aggressive, but pretty much the norm for ThaiVisa.

Sadly it's not that easy being based out of Thailand a total avoidance of TG travel is sometimes impossible or impractical. However as stated above where there is a competitors option that fits with my schedule I will opt for them rather than TG nowadays.

However from travelling BKK travelling makes the avoidance of TG an almost impossibility. My schedule cannot adapt to fit non TG travel - unfortunately.

Fly TG J/F nearly monthly and had no problems with immigration, TG do not use the "Premium Lanes" they use the VIP desks to the right of the immigration hall. If you had been flying F then TG escort you from Aircraft Door all the way through to baggage claim via the VIP immigration desk I mentioned above. Personally I have also never suffered with being surrounded by Crew/VIP/Family upgrades, as to using my miles, booking slightly ahead I have had no problems, just about to use the return leg of a mileage F Class BKK-LHR-BKK freebie (yes I had to pay the tax).

As to regional J, I agree not up to some others standards but for example BKK-SIN no worse than SQ/CX, want to be crammed in like a sardine in J, try European Airlines.

Agreed quality food in J is slipping.

Agreed just done a KLM trip...never again..

Their J was way average and the second sector european J was in a F70 say no more. (But they do block the middle seat..... ....)

Strange. They normally hang around as you exit the air bridge with your name on a piece of paper, then either walk or buggy ride with you to-through immigration. I do see some F passengers heads down walk straight past the escorts.

How about I just wave to you as we come in to land when I come back in 2 weeks or so?

The wind direction is different and the planes are landing from the north most days as the wind is from the south.

Thanks for the thought though ... facepalm.gif

Seems as though this might be a long wait for a generous soul !

Well, they could just privatise it and appoint some decent management????

I used to fly TG once or twice a year when they had the non-stop BKK to JFK -- the service was fine and the plane was never crowded so I guess that's in part why they stopped it. I once booked one-way the non-stop LAX to BKK but they had 2 equipment related malfunctions (2 nights in hotel at LAX) and they ended up putting me on EVA Air -- I guess that non-stop is gone as well.

Feel really sad seeing the standard of thai airways going low.

Service is getting poor.

Food is pathetic

Staff is so arrogant Air Crew as well as the ground staff (Absolutely no service industry manners)

The list can go on and on........how long before thai hears all this and takes some action??????
