Russians&Trinidadians: Do they need transit visa to Canada?

Featured Replies

I have friends who are traveling to Trinidad. They are flying to transit @Canada before taking a flight to Trinidad. Do they need to apply transit visa?

My Russian friend said she does not need transit visa if she does not stay @the airport more than 24 hours. But for Trinidadian we are researching and do not have an answer.

If anyone has information please post. Thank you!

Your friend is correct.

Most global airports do not require transit visa's as the stop is just part of the journey and you are held in a sterile area to travel on the next leg.

I've often thought about staying for a few days in places like Moscow or Mumbai but the visa cost/hassle is such that it's not worth it.

I guess you friends are routing via Vancouver. The weather there is similar to the UK and at the moment is worse. Low cloud, rain etc and not a lot to see apart from Vancouver Island.

I'm assuming they are flying from Thailand but if it's Moscow/Canada/Trinidad then it will be Toronto or Montreal. Still grim weather compared to Trinidad.

Neither are worth a stopover.

If they are cricket fans they need to visit Viv Richard Street.

A nice island with great people and superb beaches.
