Cmmum
Hi, Am new on here, but hoping to be around more often Was wondering if any one could advise..... We have a dozen free range layer hens, about 8 mths old. Most are laying well, but three are still yet to lay at all, and have weird looking combs - combs are still very pale, and stumpy and crusty - any ideas? Thanks! teletiger
If your goal is to gather together a quality flock then you will have to bite the bullet. Chicken soup. that will be their best attribute. Only use the best for propagation. Regards.
Jotham79
Do you mean that you are getting 9 eggs per day? If so, that is a good rate for 12 hens. I can pick them up and check the spread of the pelvic bones to see if they have begun to lay.. What breed are they? Do you have photos of the birds that you are concerned about? Cmmum
Hi, thanks guys, A couple did become chicken soup, my kids thought it was great! Now have 10, which we average 9 eggs from each day, and have for the last 3mths. Looking at picking up another 30 now that we are up and running a bit more Cheers
