barrybankruad
Bangkok taxia (together with New York) are the best value in the world, according to an article in today's Melbourne Age. That is if they don't fiddle with the meter and actually put it on I suppose. richard_smith237
I kind of agree when: - I flag down a taxi that's not parked waiting in a busy tourist area or outside a hotel. - I'm not at a BTS when its raining or at peak periods. - they know where they are going (or will pay attention to my instructions). - they are not under the influence. When the Taxi drivers are not playing silly buggers they are excellent value. I wish more had seat-belts in the rear seats. If find that outside of the busy tourist areas 90% of the taxis are ok. In the busy tourist areas 90% are not !

MichaelJackson
Using the meter without having to insist its switched on would be a nice change. Edited November 13, 2013 by MichaelJackson

But to defend the taxi drivers...if you are outside tourist areas they always do it.
