Anti-Govt Protesters Apprehend 'Redshirts Spy'

BANGKOK: -- Volunteer guards of the anti-government protests at Ratchadamnoen Avenue have apprehended a man who claimed to be a paid agent of the rival pro-government Redshirts.

The man, in a yellow shirt, caused a scene at 10.30 today by lifting plastic chairs at the protest campsite and started hitting random protesters who were relaxing in their tents. The protesters then responded by beating up the man and subduing him, before the security guards in the area rushed to separate him from the crowd.

After a brief interrogation behind the rally stage, the man, who did not give his name, said he had been paid 200 baht by the National United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) to infiltrate the anti-government protests and commit violent acts along with two other accomplices who, he claimed, had escaped amidst the chaos.

However, the man refused to name the persons who hired him and his specific objectives. The anti-government guards later escorted him to the police for further legal prosecution.

The UDD is also organising a mass rally in Bangkok today to show support for the government.

Refused to name the persons who hired him? Seriously? The guards need some shaking up if they couldn't get the info required. Just because they lost the nutcrackers doesn't mean that a damp piece of rawhide around the plums wouldn't squeeze the info out of him before the sun sets.

@BlackHeart: I just loved that ! ! - cheesy.gif You must be an avid reader & fan of Louis L'Amour, correct ? ? This business with the 'damp piece of rawhide" is straight out of "Last Of The Breed" - great stuff ! ! ! !

Oh dear. If true, this man and perhaps his accomplices / masterminds definitely deserve a group nomination for the Darwin Awards.

O geez another who doesn't know the Darwin Awards rules. The act of stupidity has to include the death of the performer.

Random craziness, and certainly not news.

NOT NEWS ? ? ? - NOT NEWS ? ? ? - oh; I see; so when these Red Ruckers show their true intentions ("create mahem" ! !) that is NOT noteworthy ? ?

Well; I beg to differ and observe that this is very significant, since it tells you that 'the other side' is obviously feeling that it is in a vulnerable position, hence their failed attempts to incite violence . . . . .

Mind you; that is just my humble opinion . . . . . . .probably not shared by many ? ? ? ?

How about an honourable mention then? :D

I attended a pro-government rally 2 weekends back with my girlfriend and can indeed say that a large number were there taking selfies and were off. Us included :) was more of a thai pride rally and "being amongst the action". Politics was just a small part. In my humbe opinion
