re-entry permit question

Featured Replies

Okay so i am sure that this tiopic has been asked and answered but...

I am on my second of a double entry visa and have extended it until Feb 13, 2014. That was done... no problem. I got my visa in the US (LA) and the had to use by date is Jan 13, 2013. My question is I want to go home for the Christmas holidays and then come back. I already have my round trip ticket (12/13/13 to 01/13/14). Will I be able to get a re-entry permit so that I do not lose my present extension? That is my question. many thanks for any help with this in advance.

Yes you can obtain a re-entry permit.

I suggest you get a new visa while in the states.

I think it's useful to point out that the "use by" date (which he meant to say was Jan 13, 2014) is irrelevant because he's already used both of the entries. The visa is therefore no longer valid. That's why he needs a Re-Entry Permit.

And yes a new double entry Tourist Visa would be a good thing to have, but it's only a month's visit, it's the Holidays, and we don't know where he will be in the States. Be great if he's in LA, or near an Honorary Consul.

(12/13/13 to 01/13/14).

If I understand you correctly you want to ensure you can remain in Thailand until Feb 13, 2014.

If you just come back in on January 13, you'll get a 30 day visa exempt entry that would take you almost up to the Feb 13th extension you have, if that's all you need.

If he has an outbound ticket to show if airline asks.

If he has an outbound ticket to show if airline asks.

In the unlikely event he were asked, he could probably show them the permission to stay until February 13. I doubt most airline check-in staff would know enough to look for a re-entry permit.
