Why are Triumphs made here so expensive?

Like the Honda Cub? No way. Esp. since Honda just re-released the bike as "Super Cub".

If any-one owns the rights to the name of Tiger Cub for a bike, I would expect it to be Triumph. That's what they called one of their bikes in the 70's. A smaller cousin of the Tiger.

Jerry

Honda started using the Cub name in the 1950's.

Triumph started making the Tiger Cub in 1956, two years before Honda started using the Cub name in 1958.

Honda first used the Cub name in 1952:

OK, you and wikipedia win. Maybe Triumph will call their new bike Terrier or Tigress, both old model names.

Here's some info about the new Triumph Cub (or 250 Daytona or or ?)

BMW are looking at india or thailand as a production site

I was told by a manager at Nataporn (Honda, Nissan & BMW franchisees in Udon) that BMW have confirmed they will start producing motorcycles in Thailand in the next few years. The new BMW showroom in the city is currently under construction and will sell both cars and motorcycles.

Seems like it will be another CBR/Ninja clone. Yawn. And I thought we would get to see a mini bonneville...
