Studying Thai on Tourist Visa is this problem in immigration's eyes?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am on a triple entry tourist visa, not working, and about to apply for 30 day extension to my first 60 day entry.

Can I let them know I am studying Thai or is this a problem without an ED visa? I'm assuming they will ask why I want extension? (it's because I have a lot to see! :-) )

It's a 6 week course so I won't be studying the whole time I am here, which is why I am not on an ED visa.

Thanks

No problem, you will get your 30 day extension.

No motivation needed.

Studying the local language isn't considered working, so no probs at all. Most Thais ( also Immigration) really appreciate when you learn their language.-wai2.gif
