Immigration restrictions to student visas now limited to only 2 years.

Does anybody know about the recent Immigration restrictions to student visas now limited to only 2 years in length? Or 1 year with only 1 year extension? Many thanks if you have had any experience here.

I have not heard of any changes.

There never has been any limit other than a school's limit as to how advanced your studies can be with them.

There is some truth associated with the "crackdown" in Phuket where "students" are given thirty day "under consideration" stamps while their schools legitimacy / their own personal attendance record is investigated.

This is not a rumor and is the authorities response to widespread abuse of ED "visas".

Yes, that's what I recall, but then I thought Phuket Immigrations put out some denial. I didn't read it to see what explanation was given. As I say it's not always easy to separate headlines from reality.
