Two Israeli tourists injured in bus accident

LAMPANG: -- A bus carrying 29 Israeli tourists to Chiang Mai overturned in this northern province early Saturday morning, causing minor injuries to two female tourists, police said.

Pol Lt Col Shinnakrit Thiwongkham of Sobprab district police station said the accident occurred at 4:30 am on the Asian Lampang-Bangkok Highway in Sobprab district.

Shinnakrit said two Israeli women suffered cuts at their fingers and eyebrows.

The tourists were taken to the police station waiting for the tour company to send another bus to pick them up to their destination in Chiang Mai.

The bus driver admitted to police that he fell asleep causing the bus to plunge into a roadside ditch and overturn.

The bus driver was charged with reckless driving causing injuries.

At least, this one driver admits the responsibility without escaping and is prepare to face the mistake.

Very fortunate they didn't reach the mountains between CM and Lampang yet, could have been much worse.

It's sad that the company never seems to get into much trouble, but can require a driver to drive many, many hours.

Very fortunate they didn't reach the mountains between CM and Lampang yet, could have been much worse.

My immediate thoughts also.

Talk about going on a roll.

Thank the powers that be or it would certainly have been a tragedy for all who where on the bus and also in the way of it going down the mountain side.

WoW!!!!!!

(i,ve done that trip so many times in the past and had my bum chewing the seat. )

marshbags :o:D:D
