Trying to leave Thailand when 90 days report is expired [urgent]

Featured Replies

Hello.

I would like to know if Im able to leave the country while my 90 days report is expired. 16th is the day of expire, so I still got time to make it untill 23rd. Planning to leave on 24th.

I could make it even today, but Im pretty sick at the moment and so is my son. Need to get him to the hospital. Still have monday to go, but that day will be busy as hell (for both me and the immigration office). I will make it on 23rd if needed though.

Any experience?

Thanks.

They don't check for them when you leave. But you could be caught for it when you make your 1st report after returning.

Not planning to come back in few years. And when coming back I probably got a different visa (tourist or something). Thanks.

If they call you out on it at Swampy, which is extremely rare, all you have to do is pay a 2,000 baht fine. So stop worrying! And bon voyage.

Mail in the 90-day report EMS?

It'd still be "late" in that they like to have mailed reports 15 days before expiry, but what the hell, at least you'd have tried, and it might just work.

I don't recall any reports of anybody having a problem with 90 day reports when leaving the country. Most people take the report slip out of their passport before leaving.

I was beginning to come to the conclusion it was never checked when you leave the country.

I have never heard otherwise, although I was asked when checking out of hospital ???

Oops, misread the original post.

The hospital might give you some sort of cert. but don't expect you will have any problem.

As an overstay you will be in deep sh*t if you are stopped/picked up by the police for any reason.

Best I can suggest is some sort of medical cert. from the hospital.

As always, up to you.

Why is "overstay" being mentioned ? That is NOT the topic of this thread.

Please see my edited post.

Otherwise can't you contribute anything helpful which is on thread?

Even with an overstay immigration will not forgive it with a letter from a doctor. Ninety day reports would never be excused because you can have somebody do them.

A friend stayed an entire year on a Retiement visa, - didn't know about the 90 day report. Then he left the coutnry - no comment by authorities, then returned for 6 months, but by then was reporting - still no action by Thai authorities.

True enough, or I believe you can do them by post?
