Saan Posted February 11, 2014 Share Posted February 11, 2014 My wife looked at a news report of bushfires that have destroyed tens of thousands of hectares of countryside in Australia and innocently said: "Chiang Mai will be like that soon." pitchag Posted February 12, 2014 Share Posted February 12, 2014 Most of the bush fire in Aussie are down south in the cooler region of Aussie the type of trees that grow there are more likely to catch fire and the greenies that controlled the last government stopped the back burning and clearing of the dead fuel on the ground, unlikely to happen in Chiang Mai because it is a jungle type forest and not full of dry ground fuel A lot of Aussie seeds need fire to crack them so they can germinate and will lie dormant for years Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
