Suthep blasts Chalerm for naming Red Bull founder a PDRC’s financier

BANGKOK: -- Anti-government protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban last night strongly blasted the Center for the Maintaining of Peace and Order (CMPO) over its naming of the Red Bull founder Chaleo Yoovidhya among 22 major financial supporters of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC).

The PDRC secretary-general Suthep said Mr Chaleo died on 17 March 2012 at the age of 89.

So how could he financially supported the PDRC, Suthep asked the CMPO director Chalerm Yoobamrung.

Chaleo was revealed in the list of the first group of 22 major financiers of the PDRC in waging several month long protest against the government.

Suthep said such issuance of warrants by Chalerm was random and tantamount to merely bully businesses which operate legally in the country.

It also showed the mentality of the issuer, he said.

He also said none of these major business named by the CMPO has neither directly nor indirectly supported the PDRC.

But he sarcastically thanked the CMPO head that such issuance would merely add more friends to the PDRC in naming them as financial supporter.

Among the major corporations that are summoned for questioning for their cash donations to the PRDC are those involving in soft drink, energy drink, department stores, hotel, consumer products, media, commercial bank, insurance firms and automobile industry.

Executives of Dusit Thani hotel were summoned to clarify the Department of Special Investigation for giving the PDRC to use its facilities and stay overnight.

By virtue of those companies and individuals named and summoned for an inquisition informal questioning session it would appear that there is indeed a very large body of opinion that can see exactly what the Shinwatra clan master plan is, hence the aforementioned bodies and individuals support if proven of course of the P.R.D.C.

As an aside will the esteemed mighty gums Chalerm be requesting mass arrests of the donors we see every day handing over money to the P.R.D.C. ?

Come come mighty gums Chalerm, do your job properly please.

Bangkok Post has named a list of companies, accordingly leaked to the media.

I'm surprised that a few of the top departmental stores in Rajaprasong would want to do that. Aren't they shooting their own foot ? Paying the protestors to stage a protest site at your doorstep and frighten away tourists and Thai shoppers ?

This has been a belief of mine for over a month now.

Government leave them there to kill their own business off. If the Government clear them out too quickly and they have their finances intact, they regroup and come back.

I think they want them out there as long as possible. They damage themselves much more this way and don't get the sympathy from the Army as they are not getting tear gassed and bussed off to prison. Yet.

The other paper says it is Chalerm Yoovidhya, father of the absent Ferrari driver and head of the Red Bull empire, not Chaleo.

Don't

You'll spoil the rant of the day for many people who want to help out Suthep.

Rest assured, people will vote with their wallets over this!! They did enough with Singha to get the airhead to change her name.

Are they that stupid.. really.. to name someone who died way before this movement started. That is sheer incompetence and really makes you wonder about all the other names on the list too.

Not that one should expect more from an alcoholic.. but one would expect that the guy is helped by some competent people.

The source for you misguidded knee jerk is a Suthep on Bluesky rant!!!

You think that is the final word and the absolute truth you heard from him and that no more needs to be said.

Chalerm held back from naming them so it's Suthep himself that outed here.

There will be much quaking from the backers, espescially the ones with many branches that may fall out Sutheps Militia Guards sphere of influence.

You can find them on the BP if you can tear yourself away for a few minutes

Do / did Farmers and Red shirts drink Singha??

It's more expensive than CHEERS or ARCHER... but of course with ALL the money they have since Thaksin took over.... no problem!

I would hazard a guess that she has a bigger pot to pee in than you do.

So you suggest that 132 LARGE companies, with a lot of knowledge in how to handle a business, and a several million people of all walks that support Suthep are all dumbers ?

You must have a lot of self esteem .

I'm suggeting what most people have been suggesting for years.

There is an elite clique that help each other in any way possible to grab the power back from the voters in anyway they can.

and 7 million people in all walks of life is about half of what PT picked up in votes last election (the one that wasn't blockaded by fascists).

Quite where you plucked the 7 mill from is beyond me, but I'll let it go as it demonstrates your lack of knowledge of democracy and what constituts a preiviliged self serving clique.
