Hi everyone

I posted before my brother´s thai girlfriend. He is Spanish and wants to marry here in Spain. She will be getting a tourist visa for second time and they are planning to marry in August.

She needs to bring from Thailand this papers to get married here

1.Certificate of residence (Certificado de Empadronamiento), proving residence in Thailand of at least two years

2. .An original full Thai birth certificate, accompanied by a sworn translation (traduccion jurada) done by a Spanish 'traductor jurado'.

3.Proof that she is free to marry.

documents in question must be original certificates and must bear the "apostille" (official seal). They must be translated into Spanish and the translation must be authenticated by the Spanish Foreign Ministry.

She told us that in the Spanish Embassy are not very helpfull and she doesn´t know where to get this papers in Thailand, also she is scared to ask there about this because she thinks if they know she is going to get marry here they will not give her the visa. I actually think it would be easier for her to get visa, as Spain Embassy only gives tourist visa and working visa.

what do you think about this and where she could get this papers in Thailand ? in her town hall Hall?

She, or her parents, should have a copy of her birth certificate.

The suggestions from Spain Weddings may be applicable, substituting "Royal Thai Embassy Consular Officer" for "American Consular Officer".

She can also consult the Legalization Division of the mfa in Thailand.

Thanks so much for your help , Royal Thai Embassy in Spain , doesn´t provide any of this documents. I need to know exactly where or how to get this papers in Thailand . I want to make it easy for her, as she seems very confused about burocracy.
