TVGerry Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Poor Michael Yon, what will he do now seeing as he probabaly didn't do himself any favours with his red shirted neighbours in Chiang Mai by becoming one of Sutheps groupies It's kind of funny. Andrew MacGregor Marshall is making fun of Yon by saying how he managed to break the news before Yon even though Yon's here and he's not. You can feel the love those two have for each other! 1
Popular Post Baerboxer Posted February 28, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 28, 2014 (edited) I think Suthep and his allies should be investigated. Each one of his moves damaged the Thai economy. Could it be possible they bid against certain stocks so that if they lose value, they end up making a huge amount of money? I wouldn't be surprised if he did that and made billions in the process. Good idea. And the Shinawats could be investigated at the same time. Their family wealth has increased a whopping 450% since little Poo took office and big brother told Forbes his sister's government sent him I billion baht. Shame the farmer's haven't been paid this week despite Yingluck's vow. Still she has her priorities, clearly. Edited February 28, 2014 by Baerboxer 4
Popular Post commie Joe Posted February 28, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 28, 2014 YL stated she would have the debate if the protests stopped - I thought that was obvious, all this speculation yet the answer is so simple, Suthep has made a step now over to you YS But the protest are on going .They are just trying to get all 5 from each site to join together at one site. So why would any government want to engage in talks that have no support in the country. Desperation post me thinks 5

Could it be possible they bid against certain stocks so that if they lose value, they end up making a huge amount of money? I wouldn't be surprised if he did that and made billions in the process. We're one stop closer to peace with Suthep taking a step back ending the shutdown but hey, before the protests are even 100% over, we have red idiots wanting blood and making insinuations without any proof to back it up. I don't think I said anything about wanting blood and I don't see why you feel the need to call me a "red idiot" except maybe if it gives you some personal satisfaction. The protests have to be paid from some kind of money. Suthep says he is broke and the donations are not nearly enough to keep the protests going for even a day. Suthep himself said that the protests cost over 10 million Baht every day. Need proof? Read here: http://www.nationmultimedia.com/politics/PDRC-spending-more-than-Bt10-million-a-day-30224504.html So, where is the money coming from? Surely the people "investing" in these protests don't want to just get their money back with the huge risks of not getting anything back at all. So they must be making money from somewhere. The Thai Baht has been falling daily since Suthep started his protests and especially since the "Bangkok Shutdown" and threats against banks began. Anyone who placed bets against the Baht at the stock exchanges made a fortune. Only the PDRC and their backers knew of their moves in advance, so they would have been stupid not to place these bets. The same goes for the companies wrongly targeted by Suthep, like AIS and others. Their shares lost value but they will recover. Who made the billions? Someone did. And it's financial fraud. 3
EyesWideOpen Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 it sounds like he is trying to say he is in control of protests or not... really, after Yinglucks firm determination "until death" really shows he is the biggest loser... and he is going out before all his dignity is gone... on facebook... Yingluch has put out so many photos of what she had done and accomplished... I do not see any unhappy people in the photo's... and quite honestly(in my humble opinion) she hasn't done anything terrible to merit all this crap that these wannabe leaders accuse her of... they promote violence, she trys to promote peace... i hope she reclaims her spot and at least let her finish her term by rights and let the people vote the way they want to vote... and suthep and any of those people should work honestly if they want to gain the masses by normal and peaceful ways... that's how you win... not this forceful and childish way... Seriously? You saw happy photos on Poo's Facebook and that's how you judge she's doing a good job? Who puts ugly and bad pictures on their own Facebook anyway? Yes I am going to assume there were no photos of the rice farmers who committed suicide due to the rice scam being broke from corruption...... 1

Could it be possible they bid against certain stocks so that if they lose value, they end up making a huge amount of money? I wouldn't be surprised if he did that and made billions in the process. How much do you think the failed rice pledging scheme has cost the economy? The government defaulted on 10% of the entire agricultural production for the year and withdrew 10% of the monetary base from circulation for an unspecified period. For Northeastern farmers who can only plant one crop a year they have defaulted on their entire production for the year. That is a spectacular achievement in economic terms which will have dire knock on effects. Before you say it was Suthep's fault, bear in mind that the payments were due in October and the protests started in November. Go figure. Thanks for being the voice of reason ...

I have family in Uthai Thani and they picked up their cash with the rice slip on Wednesday. You realize that the BAAC wouldn't have the capacity to pay all the farmers if they had all the cash in their possession right now, right? If their employees worked full time, they would be able to pay all the farmers in about 3 months. 2
Popular Post sdanielmcev Posted February 28, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 28, 2014 The plot thickens. Political machinations seem to be evolving on both sides to be "put up or shut up." Of course there were people financing the protests. The same people Chalerm and the DSI threatened to expose but didn't. Yes it's true the Baht dropped. Thailand isn't special. In most countries, when there's strife, protests and bombs exploding daily, the currency there tends to weaken. As for people making a fortune, once again, like your 'ammart' conspiracy theories, you offer no evidence whatsoever. Just speculation that mean NOTHING. Move along now, you pretending to know better doesn't mean you actually do. 4

Shannon, your teeth are as ugly as your thoughts. The nightly assaults, and murders of four children, should be investigated. Each one of Thaksin's moves damaged the Thai smile, in 2010, and again now. Suthep is right. The only way to save the nation is for Thaksin and his nipple-suckers to be permanently sidelined in exile, if not prison. Thailand desperately needs to recover from this toxic cancer that is the Shin family and leeches. Now that Bangkok is no longer shut down, it's high time to Restart Thailand. Good move by Suthep to consolidate his people in one safer location. Do they have any spare tents to rent, so I can sleep in Lumpini Park, on the grass by the lake? Lovely location, good vibes there. I would be among friends, even tho we don't speak the same language. I have my whistle. Patience will be necessary to see this beautiful, civilized, peaceful political protest through to successful fruition. I'm optimistic. As a budding Buddhist, I'd be happier meditating for peace on the grass in a park, rather than on the asphalt of some hot street. May Lumpini Park be an important symbol of peaceful political protest that succeeds. 5
RedQualia Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Ready to contribute my 50 Baht to a shrine for Prime Minister Yingluck somewhere near the moat in Chiang Mai. Just let me know where to pay...
espinoza Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Isn't March 3 also the date that Yingluck officially lose the caretaker status ? No, it is not. The constitution says she has to perform a new election before that date, but she has done her best. The little fac-dwarf has the responsibility. Jail the luni asap. 1
Popular Post lemonjelly Posted February 28, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 28, 2014 Typical.... I told the GF that buying 25 boxes of whistles was not a good business move, would she listen....no. Now what the bloody hell am I supposed to do with them? Blowing them at the mother in law every time she visits is the only use i see for them now. Shame she didn't buy M79's . 8
rreddin Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 He get a phone call i guess. Finito Duce. He has had a phone call, of that I am sure, but from whom? His backers have called him off. They must have a good reason for doing that. The suggestion, it was not a threat, of cessation rattled Suthep and the army, but I doubt that was the reason he was told to stop. Maybe there is a winner in the real power game. If so and it is team Suthep, we will soon know because come early next week his "council" will be appointed. His cheer leaders will then learn just what they have lost. If it is not team Suthep, I expect a lot of behind the scenes bargaining before he announces that he is retiring from public life to lead a quiet retirement out of the country - but no jail time. Time will tell, but I don't think we will have to wait long.

BAAC have not covered themselves in glory and have certainly alienated much of the farming community throughout the country. You do not dump on your customers and expect them to remain loyal, but that is exactly what BAAC have done. 1

Popular Post Hulkster Posted February 28, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 28, 2014 LOL at Suthep worshippers claiming this to be some kind of master stroke. I think they claimed the same thing when they condensed the protest sites from 6 to 4. Funny how that master stroke coincided with not having enough protesters to sustain 6 protest sites. Now they only have enough protesters to sustain 1 protest site, so they'll close the other 3 sites! Genius! Going from 4 sites to 1 when you don't have protester numbers to sustain 4 sites. What a master stroke!! LOL 6

brucegoniners Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 What a guy! He didn't seem to give a sh*t about the traffic and inconvenience in the city before now. Maybe he collected enough money from the "donations" to make himself so wealthy it doesn't matter anymore. I'm so tired of this sh*t I can't stand it! Yes, I agree that Thaksin is a creep, but it became obvious very early on that all this was going to do was to irritate people. I leave the day before for a business trip so I won't be able to fully enjoy it until I get back at the end of April. Thank goodness!!! 2

Thaksin was awarded an exclusive GSM license before entering politics, when he was still a mid level businessman, maybe you heard of a little company called AIS? Look at the Forbes rich list and you'll see those who had a similar foresight ranking near the top. The powers that be never forgave that their oversight made him so rich yet he went into politics against them. As for her purse it would be a lot fuller if they had just kept with AIS, how many rich people in thailand do you know have ever been investigated? Edited February 28, 2014 by firestar 3
