Jdietz
Dengue? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dengue_fever If so, you're on the right medication, you can add paracetamol, nothing else.
Popular Post canman
Sounds like food poisoning but could be many things. Vomiting and the squirts for that long mean you are likely very dehydrated now and should be in a hospital. Get to a hospital and get a proper diagnosis.

Popular Post Gsxrnz
Get some imodium and antibiotics immediately for the squirts. Keep taking the antibiotics for another 5-7 days to kill the bacteria. The immodium will work almost immediately to stop the toilet trips. Drink plenty of fluids as you are doing. Take Nurofen or similar for the general pain and help you rest. Where are you man?? If you're anywhere in Jomtien I can do a Pharmacy run for you if you can't get more than 5 metres from your toilet. Genuine offer - I've been where you are now and yeah, it does feel like you're dying!! Edit: It sounds like compylabactor or salmonella to me. Both serious food poisoning and youi should also consider getting to a hospital for a proper diagnosis if you have no improvement in 24 hours. Popular Post hanno
As you will see from above thread, asking health questions might not be the best idea. Whilst many posters are undoubtedly great hobby doctors (along with hobby sleuths, hobby economists, hobby everything), it might be a good idea to seek out a real medical professional. I doubt that real doctors would freely disperse health advice on a public forum

I doubt that real doctors would freely disperse health advice on a public forum Whilst I agree in principle, it doesn't take a Stanford qualified doctor of medicine to diagnose "the squirts" AKA dyssentry. Symptoms are somewhat self-evident when one is pissing pure water from one's rectum every 15 minutes.

But not that bad. mataleo Yeah, anybody whose been more than a year here and escaped the dreaded "tong sia" can consider themselves lucky. All my friends have imodium and anti-biotics on hand for this. I thought every resident was well aware of the cure - maybe this is the first time the OP has had a serious case. The sooner you can down the imodium the less severe the symptoms are. I'm not a fan if using anti-biotics willy nilly, but if you have a serious gut infection they do get rid of it. Hey OP!!! Are you able to respond?

Gsxrnz
OP - can you get somebody to go to a pharmacy for you. Ask reception or security staff at your hotel/condo and they will go for you. Get the imodium and tell them you have "tong-seeya" or "bidt" or "jeb-thong". The pharmacy will give you the correct anti-biotics. Can you do that?? Popular Post negreanu
Why would someone discuss it on an anonymous thread on the internet. If you are that bad here is some advice. Go to the hospital get treated it really is that simple.
rixalex
My understanding of Imodium was that it was only supposed to be used in times when you are unable to get to a toilet, such as traveling. If you can get to a toilet, better to give whatever you have got in your system, a chance of getting out. Only my layman's understanding though. Agree with the advice of getting checked in to a hospital. Sent from my i-mobile IQ XA using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
thepool
If the OP has a raised temperature and is suffering virtually continuous diarrhea for 4 days he needs urgent medical evaluation. A Thai public hospital will not be expensive. Go to the Emergency Room. Soon!
negreanu
Hospital can be expensive tho mataleo Gotta be a better option than dying? .... If you refuse to go to hospital. I personally would go with: Cipro 2x a day Bioflor Probiotics 2x a day Tylenol for fever and pains Thats it. Forget the rest. AyG
If the OP has a raised temperature and is suffering virtually continuous diarrhea for 4 days he needs urgent medical evaluation. If the OP doesn't have a raised temperature and is suffering virtually continuous diarrhoea for 4 days he still needs urgent medical evaluation: it could be cholera. Popular Post HooHaa
dont listen to people you dont know offering medical advice. go see a doctor. a real one, at a hospital. the best hospital you can afford, not some hack at a clinic. why isn't this obvious to people?
