PM sent with a few suggestions.

I am sure that you know this, but foreigners cannot practice law in Thailand - they act as consultants. Most of them know their stuff though.

Always ask them for references. There have been one or two dodgy ones over the years.

Ok.. so i've have spoken to a lawyer and have been quoted around 200,000 bht for the following:

Land due diligence
Company set-up
Contract preparation and negotiation with the seller
Completion of transaction
Now is it me or is this a little on the expensive side??

All depends on what value is your company.

But it does sound extremely high, out there in the stratosphere if you are thinking about a 1 or 2 million baht company.

Personally I found them to be expensive and incompetent.

Yes that company has many international laywer a and consultants

They are expensive but they do things as by the book as possible

When buying a property you need to make sure everything is as legit as possibly from the beginning

some property could be in debt

The access road might not have access rights or not government road

Check the sellers are the real owners

Find ways to pay lower tax

Check electric is at reasonable rates if private electric

Make sure the contract is fixed if government then that is better

Sometimes pay less get less sometime pay more for a proper company you get more

Sometimes pay allot and get scammed

This company is international so I guess they are not interested in ripping people off
