Visa exempt stamp after expired tourist visa

Featured Replies

I need some advice about the current Thai visa rules, hopefully someone here can help me :)

I'm from Netherlands (Dutch passport), 33 years old.

Since October 2013 I've been in Thailand a lot. First I've used 3 visa exempt stamps (30 days each) after arrival by air to Thailand, and leaving the country for a few weeks in between.

(Unsure if it's relevant but I've had one other 60 day Thai tourist visa and quite a lot of 15 & 30 day visa exempt stamps in 2010-2012.)

In January I've got a double entry (2x 60 day) tourist visa in Laos. After using most of the first 60 days I left the country and since 17-3 I'm on the second entry.

After this one is about to expire I will leave the country. A few weeks later (around the end of May) I would like to come back (via air) for about 10 days. After that go back to Europe in the beginning of June, and have no plan to come back to Thailand soon.

I know I could apply for an 30 day extension for my tourist visa and after that a re-entry permit.

But I prefer to just get a free visa exempt stamp, because it saves almost 4.000 baht and the hassle to go to the immigration office.

Does anyone know if this is allowed?

You can get a 30 day visa exempt entry without a problem. There is no restriction on visa exempt entries of any kind after having visas or entries of any type.

Arriving by air will secure a 30 day visa exempt entry.

No problem!
