WhiteCadillac
Does Toyota Hilux 2001-2003 have cabin air filter? I would like to add a cabin air filter to the car to clean cabin air. Any suggestions on how to do this if there is no factory made place for the filter like in the newer cars?
transam
I believe they all have a filter. What use it is I don't know. Open the glove box in the dash, the lower one. Fiddle with the door and it will come off. Look inside, you will see a black cassette thingy, On the left of it, press the toggle and the cover will come off to reveal the filter. Pull it out, run you vaccuum cleaner over it. Put it back. Buy a new one if you like.
IMHO
If it's this old and you still don't know (i.e. the air still blows) I'm guessing there's no filter You will likely have a provision for one where T/A noted, but unlikely there's a filter in it. WhiteCadillac
I opened the glove box. No cassette slot for the airfilter, like in the new Vigo. There was the tube that went into the left cab air outlet, and I got an idea of manually installing a small filter there. Should clean some. Woodsie888
Try part number 87139-06080 which is a very commonly used Toyota filter. I pay 150 THB, albeit in large quantities.

Farma
when you say you opened the glove box and couldn't see it, did you remove the complete glove box and look behind it for the filter. http://www.wikihow.com/Change-the-Cabin-Air-Filter-in-a-Toyota
Woodsie888
Try part number 87139-06080 which is a very commonly used Toyota filter. I pay 150 THB, albeit in large quantities. I know what it looks like, but there was no place for it in the car. In that case, why not fit a very dense sponge in the plenum chamber. That'll help a lot.
