TAT hopes to see THB700 billion from tourism in Q3-4

BANGKOK, 16 April 2014 (NNT) - The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) sets a tourism revenue target for the second half of 2014 at 700 billion baht while keeping a lookout for possible deflation which might affect domestic travel.

TAT Governor Thawatchai Aranyik on Wednesday said the TAT was wary about the economy in the last two quarters of the year but he believed that the Thai tourism would rebound if the government was able to prevent political violence.

The Chinese tourist market was expected to recover the quickest thanks to good relations between the two countries, the official said.

In the absence of long holidays and possible deflation end of year, the TAT felt it necessary to roll out special plans to stimulate the market in the third quarters, Mr Thawatchai added.

The TAT really are ignorant. With the threats looming by both the UDD and PDRC just for a challenge to see who has the most supporters plus the UDD threats of intimidation to the courts should they make a judicial coup and everyone knows how the UDD use violence in their protests. Tourism will be fortunate if they remain stagnant without any decrease in their numbers. Things are coming now that will be a lot worse than the past 6 months.

I never cease to be amazed by how "in your face" they are about the money they want to get into the country/their pockets. All for an industry that supposedly doesn't contribute that much to the overall GDP of Thailand.

They must keep publishing this trash to at least show their masters that they are on the game...lest their huge budget be pruned.....

They have offices all over the world, and a position in one of these sites is similar to a diplomatic posting....money, allowances and a good life.....they don't want to lose it!!

The Chinese economy is cracking and the Thais are rambling on about the Chinese tourist market. The biggest seller for TAT is sex trade and prostitution along with pedophilia. This is where the money comes from. Not from elephant riding and temple tours.

And they are doing their best to kill the sex trade.

Thailand are leading tourist destination in Asian countries but few years back politic aspect and neighbor countries like Myanmar and Indonesia are gaining fast increase tourist revenue.

It's like a hotel we have to maintain cleanness and competition ,thinking we will always stay at top are wrong the world are developing fast if Thailand have mindset relax will lose to neighbor have to always stay competitive like some set back like visa, scam on tourist and safety.

The word is slowly getting out that LoS is the hub of garbage non-disposal. Scams, mafia-ridden beaches, plastic bags floating gently in the sea, insane suicidal drivers, buses that topple over three times a day after meals, trains that crawl when they don't actually de-rail, and, above all (for tourists) a strictly controlled booze market, so that, no matter where you are in LoS, you are never likely to get a choice of ale that goes beyond the four indistinguishable p*ss distributors, Chang, Leo, Singh and Heineken.

Welcome to tourist paradise.

On the other hand, our Chinese friends, accustomed to uncontrolled pollution in their own country, might well feel at home here.

They can hope. That's nice.

I hope to get a nice blowjob from a nice 20s tight body, lanky HiSo Thai girl. Hoping is so easy.
