Would anyone happen to know the dimensions for photos for a work permit? I believe its smaller than a visa photo. And is it 3 you need. Question based on vague info received.

From memory it's same as passport photo and I think only 2 needed.

Sorry only vague info, I got mine few years ago and do not recall , though any photo shop would know

.

Bigger than passport. 4cm X 6cm goes on the first page of the WP They rejected mine once because it had a dark (navy blue not sky blue) background.

Photo is quite a bit larger than for a visa, it should be around 2 x 2.5 inches (60x45mm).

The actual photo in my WP is 60x50mm - no borders.

You must be wearing a suit and tie in the photo, Labour seem to prefer that this is photo-shopped on.

Go to a photo shop in your area, tell them you need the photos for a Work permit, they will make the picture the right size and give you a choice of appropriate 'electronic' suits and ties to add.

I do not believe shirts and tie is a requirement nor a prerequisite.

They just want an official look, so anything in plain color with collar is fine.

Mine is while polo top

If you believe that, you should mention which office you're talking about. It's certainly not true at all offices.

Phuket Labour insist on a suit and tie in the WP photo, what ever your work - polo shirts are not accepted dress for WP photos here, even Dive Instructors need the suit and tie photo!.

Other areas may well have different requirements.

I am in Pattaya and polo top has not been an issue for 4-5 years

I have also been asked to bring a medical report. Something of a surprise. Has anyone been asked to produce one. Requirements at.offices seem to vary.

A medical certificate is standard procedure to get a work permit. You may also need to get a syphilis test to get a certificate the work permit office will accept.

Whats the normal process for a medical? In other words what tests do they do?

Basically at the hospital I go to in the Phuket area, they test your blood for syphilis, check your weight, height, blood pressure, then a doctor looks you over, listens to your chest then asks you if you are healthy - that's about it.

They are also supposed to check for drug/alcohol addiction, elephantiasis, leprosy and tuberculosis.

I pay about 400 THB for this, I have no doubt you can get it cheaper if you have the time to shop around..
