Illegal Gold Mining Operation Busted in Thong Pha Phum National Park
Maybe not. I remember this extract from Mark Twains ' Following the Equator ' while he was traveling in Australia : Sir George Grey and Mr. Eyre testify that the natives dug wells fourteen or fifteen feet deep and two feet in diameter at the bore--dug them in the sand--wells that were "quite circular, carried straight down, and the work beautifully executed." Their tools were their hands and feet. How did they throw sand out from such a depth? How could they stoop down and get it, with only two feet of space to stoop in? How did they keep that sand-pipe from caving in on them? I do not know. Still, they did manage those seeming impossibilities. Swallowed the sand, may be. -

Trump Plans new Tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China
Looks like someone didn't read the article just the headline. The tariffs directed at Mexico and Canada are directly linked to the borders as outlined in the article. If you can't see this then I can only assume a) you're a headline reader b) your not real bright or c) both a) and b). "On his first day back in office, Trump pledged to enact a 25% tariff on all products imported from Canada and Mexico. He described the measure as a response to what he called an "invasion" at the U.S. border. “On January 20th, as one of my many first Executive Orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% Tariff on ALL products coming into the United States, and its ridiculous Open Borders,” he stated. “This Tariff will remain in effect until such time as Drugs, in particular Fentanyl, and all Illegal Aliens stop this Invasion of our Country!” -

The Decline of Free Speech: How the UK Became a Third-Class Nation
Home Office issues ‘common sense’ guidance for non-crime hate incidents Police told to only record incidents with a clear risk to community tensions amid concerns that trivial cases are wasting officers’ time https://www.thetimes.com/article/8bb4abd2-47e6-4bf6-ab60-cba12d9e698f?shareToken=195dc6c242140814784b01720e1a32c9 Former Metropolitan Police commissioner asks ministers to 'look closely' at report calling for end of non-crime hate incidents A new report from the thinktank Policy Exchange calls for an end to non-crime hate incidents. https://news.sky.com/story/former-metropolitan-police-commissioner-asks-ministers-to-look-closely-at-report-calling-for-end-of-non-crime-hate-incidents-13260331 You can find the full report from think-tank Policy Exchange here: https://policyexchange.org.uk/publication/non-crime-hate-incidents/ Non-Crime Hate Incidents A chilling distraction from the public's priorities on policing The report is well worth the read for anyone concerned about free speech in the U.K. The introduction: "In this policy note we outline the origins of Non-Crime Hate Incidents (NCHIs), the approach by police forces to recording them and their impact: (1) distracting police officers from focusing on what should be the core mission of policing to fight crime, (2) curtailing the employment prospects of individual members of the public through inappropriate disclosures of NCHIs, and (3) having a broader chilling effect on freedom of expression in our society."
