Samui general news

Featured Replies

Hi I am opening a topic because we spoke general news into the curfew topic and it is forbidden.

So, lately someone said (sorry his message deleted) why there was so many police and army near chaweng lake It is because 2 chinese tourist faced an attempt of rape, and got injured. Bangkok police is on the island looking for the thai guy.

We had link to some news from Phuketwan but... links to Phuketwan news are forbidden, and not by Thaivisa..........

( Forum rule #26 http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules )

I wonder how they (Phuketwan) can disallow links....!

Let's post here some misc. news related to Samui.

Why do people always assume the "bangkok police " are here

More likely suratthani province police or the DSI

I worry that this curfew is going to push people into more crime specially in areas where they are losing business that depend on night life's but I might be wrong

Also bored people who depend on the night life for entertainment

Hope DVDs are in plenty stock

This whole forum is about "general news related to Samui", so each post may contain specific news or info, such as this or that person has been mugged, 2 Chinese tourists attempted raped covered here.

So I don't see the reason to have 1 "Samui general news" thread.

If there's any new specific news, just make a new post about it.

Also, in the rules:

10) Do not discuss moderation publicly in the open forum; this includes individual actions, and specific or general policies and issues.

This includes questions about Phuketwan, I presume?

News is published when we have a reliable source. I appreciate both sides of the argument, but I do agree it's better to have a topic as news ( verified) comes to hand .

To have an open topic discussing whatever news only leads to a quagmire.

Not covering up any events, but need verification before discussion.

PM me if you have more news.
