I know that some people have reported that either Army of Police from BKK have recently visited Samui.

Supposedly many businesses (bars, clubs etc) in Chaweng have been warned to close for curfew (12am).

Does anyone here have further clarity on this situation?

I don't know why they would come from

Bangkok when. There have an army base on the island and police

They may have had someone done to to a meeting from

Bangkok

But don't be fooled jist because cannot see soldiers does not mean they are not there

I can clarify for you that if what you say is true then any warnings that have been given seem to have been totally ignored.

All the bars that I called in drove past were still open last night at 2 am as usual.

All I know is that the curfew is not closely watched in samui but if stopped in a check point I would not advise carrying weapons at this time specially of u r thai

On K.Phangan all the bars close @12 midnight no exceptions .

We are good little boys and girls .We keep our noodle shop open till 1 am

all the Thai food places are still open till early morning,
