NCPO okays construction of new police precincts
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Acting Provincial Police Region 3 chief Pol Lt-General Pisan Juldilok has instructed 19 police stations to set a standard price for new precinct constructions by July so construction can go ahead from September 15.

The region's 19 precincts, expected to cost a total of Bt220 million, include two in Nakhon Ratchasima, two in Yasothon, 10 in Surin, two in Buri Ram, two in Si Sa Ket and one in Chaiyaphum.

The move follows the National Council for Peace and Order's approval earlier this week of the plan to build 396 police stations nationwide. The plan had been put on hold due to suspected corruption.

With the NCPO's endorsement, construction of the first 181 police stations would go ahead with a budget of Bt2.5 billion, while additional budget would be allocated later for the rest of precinct constructions.
