Autopsy finds Russian girl was electrocuted

PHUKET: Police have resumed their inquiry into the death of a 10-year-old Russian girl beside the pool at the Dusit Laguna Resort Hotel, after an autopsy by the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IFM) in Bangkok established that she was electrocuted.

It is almost two months since Ksenia Drashinskiy died in mysterious circumstances while on vacation with her parents at the Dusit Laguna.

She was found unconscious on the morning of January 12, lying close to the resort’s pool, where she had been swimming with other children. She died later in hospital.

At the time, police said they suspected the girl might have been electrocuted, but Dusit management rejected this theory, adding that they were awaiting a full medical report.

Pol Maj Siriwat Inyim, Inspector of Investigations at Cherng Talay Police Station, told the Gazette that those responsible would face charges under Section 291 of the Thai Penal Code, with penalties of up to 10 years in jail, or a fine of 20,000 baht, or both.

A spokesman for the resort, who asked not to be named, said today that the matter had been in the hands of the resort’s lawyers since the girl died. The lawyers were dealing directly with the girl’s parents and the police, he added.

Attempts by the Gazette to reach the lawyers today were unsuccessful.

SHOCKING   :o

nothing funny about the murder of a 10 year old

MURDER ? How do you deduce that on the scant facts in the Gazette ?

Point taken my dear Watson.

correction: nothing funny about the possible murder of a ten year old.

Maybe possible, but seemingly improbable. Certainly a baseless stab in the dark on the facts as reported so far.

I was just staring at it for minutes, getting sucked in and pulling back, getting sucked in and pulling back, getting sucked in and pulling back, getting sucked in and pulling back.

The internet can be so rewarding.

That sort of experience can be quite expensive in the streets of special delights in the darkened corners :o

Hmmmm fishy- she was by a pool most of the day and got electrocuted? Unless lightning  strike how is this possible?  :o

Simple. She came into contact with a vent that had a pump attached to it.It had a bad connection and sent a current to the grid. The child touched it and because she was only 10 the current caused her heart to fail. Water and electricity dont mix well you know.

The Dusit Resort seemingly is capable of keeping the muzzle on the press. Nary a word since.
